Jamie talks about the Appleseed Project of the Revolutionary War Veterans Association, which trains average citizens like you or me to be qualified riflemen, fit to serve in the militia. The Appleseed Project is so popular that it now has hundreds of locations, training men, women, and youth in a friendly and affordable day of instruction. The first recorded use of the term shotgun appears in the writing of James Fenimore Cooper who writes that the term was in common use in Kentucky in 1776.
