The Sunic Journal: Croatia and Flanders; ex-Yugoslavia and Belgium as Failed Multicultural Entities

August 16, 2011

Tom Sunic at Vlaams Belang Jongeren meeting, 2011

Tom discusses in his lecture, delivered on July 23 for the Vlaams Belang Jongeren (Youth wing of the Flemish Interest, which is the largest nationalist party in Europe), at a summer school in the town of Knin, why the Yugoslav multiethnic experiment failed and what awaits Croatia as a future member of the European Union. He draws parallels between the former multiethnic Yugoslavia and the present multiethnic and multiracial state of Belgium. Problems facing now Belgium and all European countries are no longer based on inter-European strife, but how to cope with dramatic changes due the mass inflow of non-European immigrants.
