The July 1986 issue of Instauration magazine ends with the last-minute addition, too late for the typesetter, of Wilmot Robertson’s surprised reaction to the stunning column by then-nationally syndicated columnist Joseph Sobran in which Sobran praises Instauration as “the only magazine in America that faces the harder facts about race…” Sobran’s column had hit the papers in mid-May. Robertson reacts: “Holy Toledo! What’s this that hit our disbelieving and incredulous eyes…?” Kelso shares this story, in the latest issue of Instauration to go online, with VOR listeners on January 7, 2011. Sadly, Joe Sobran died, of diabetes, too young, without a computer or a phone, in an assisted care facility near Washington, DC less than a year ago.
