His awards include the Bronze Star with the V for Valor; the Purple Heart; the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star; the National Defense Medal; the Presidential Unit Citation; the Combat Action Ribbon, Navy E; two Honorable discharges from the US Navy.
