He has a very similar voice to Reason Radio’s own Mike Connor

Wow… another great discourse with Dr. Kopff. Thank you Dr. Sunic.

As America economically collapses, the possibility of a new school of Traditionalism based on classical principles could potentially take hold. A re-founding of such would mean (hopefully), the re-founding of new, ‘State-minded’ aristocracies without the blood of speculators coursing through its veins.

Therefore, the question: can a newly established aristocracy stay away from the temptations of a corporate, bourgeois lobbyist? Thomas Jefferson, (if I recall correctly) despised such proto-industrial threats. The rest is history.

Obviously, the yearnings to return to such a tradition will not be immediate; for many European Americans will be asking the most basic of questions for some time to come:

What happened to our social and hierarchical structure?

    What happened to State Sovereignty?

Where did our economic self-sustenance go?

    Who’s responsible?

The last question will take longest to answer due to our past century of Marxist propaganda benefiting the bourgeoisie (i.e. vacuous speculators).

Is such a hierarchical re-establishment possible for proper government? Well… the American people need to realise that egalitarianism is, (and has been) the prime enemy of the West since the mid-Nineteenth century.

Count on homeschooling (and a few academies here and there), in order to set the pace for re-discovery. As Dr. Ron Paul stated many times over: the Department of Education needs to be done away with.

Dr. Sunic: thank you for having Dr. Kopff again on your show. There is a lot to think about.

I definitely think we need a homeschooling academy for adults, with an adjunct organic farm to provide some fund-raising and some manual, contemplative labor.

I’d teach Russian and do assisted self-study of math and science at the homeschooling academy for adults. I think that we don’t value education enough. Look at the Asians. Over in China/Singapore/Hong Kong/Taiwan, people who are learned are actually respected.

Real learning is a weapon. The American public school system has intellectually neutered the populace. You realize that when you actually get some real learning, and you compare it to your public school upbringing. Even my own kid tells me that school teaches the kids to despise learning.

Fascinating interview. I’ve enjoying these interviews very much, and learning a lot.

One question I have is how Dr Kopff proposes to convince average folk who are not natural leaders and who are not members of the aristocratic caste to go back to a caste system.

Kopff and Evola say that modernity’s focus on materialism, seen most vividly in its prioritizing of the economy and technological progress, is spiritually bankrupt and in my interpretation sort of a betrayal of our higher spiritual inner nature.

This is all well and good, and I am very sympathetic to criticizing modernity on these grounds, but I wonder what Evola and Dr Kopff would say about the fact that modernity, while perhaps spiritually bereft, has also improved the lot of hundreds of millions of people who under a “natural” caste system would be living in mud huts and dying young.

How exactly do Evola and Dr Kopff propose to go back to such a caste system? How do you convince masses of people to go back to a social order where they would likely suffer materially, physically? Or is the idea that the change would be imposed from the top, by force? Or am I not understanding what Evola is proposing? Any thoughts from people who understand Evola better than me are greatly appreciated.

Very well put,Vick. It will not happen because the vast majority do not want it, and why would they? Been there, done that.

Does this “hierarchical spirituality” compensate them for being powerless? A sense of self-empowerment is the greatest spirtuality there is. It belongs to no one to tell us what we are capable of. As a race, we go forward, not backward, and the way will be found by individuals who then become role models for others. What is outdated is the idea of an elite that can tell the masses what to think and do, out of their musty old books. Today, everyone can access information and learn that which they choose to learn. We are not as bad off as we think.

Spoken like a true liberal Carolyn.

  7. Carolyn on August 19th, 2010 10:12 pm

Chris, if I am a liberal, then what the heck are you? Why don’t you address what Vick said. Don’t take the easy way out.

  8. Chris on August 20th, 2010 5:32 am

Carolyn, I am less interested in what Vick said than the fact that you, as a VOR broadcaster appear to be a liberal. Aside from your egalitarian comments here, I recall you making feminist comments on a previous post.

Given that, what exacty is your motivation for being part of the “movement”. Surely it is more than just defending Germans, of which the only connection you have to them appears to be an Anglicised German surname?

  9. Carolyn on August 20th, 2010 1:44 pm

Oh shut up. If you want to look for liberals on VOR, there are better places you can look. I happen to be the only woman around, so a nice target for you.

i think like a woman, not a man, and I will never aplogize for that, or try to change it.

  10. Mishko on August 21st, 2010 1:26 pm

Chris, other than trying to irritate Carolyn, help me to understand what is YOUR motivation for attacking an exceptional broadcaster?
